This time, we were trusted to organize the logistics and transport of a newly built aluminium hull of a future catamaran from the workshop at Loksa Shipyard to the yard of Baltic Workboats at Nasva. From organizing the towing to conducting a Marine Warranty Survey, we ensured a smooth and safe transport.
In order to organize the successful transport of any vessel or project, a wide network of partners is needed to cover a variety of aspects starting with transport from the workshop to lifting/launching into water – this includes inspecting the lifting and securing equipment to conducting a detailed marine warranty survey as well as keeping a close eye on the process at all times. Clear and timely information exchange between Workboats Consulting and all parties involved helped prevent delays, minimize risks, and keep the operation running effortlessly from start to finish.
Marine Warranty Survey: ensuring safety from workshop to launching into water
Before the hull left the workshop, our marine surveyor conducted a detailed Marine Warranty Survey. From structural integrity inspections to overseeing secure lifting and lashing, every step was carefully monitored. This process aimed to mitigate any potentially arising risks and ensured smooth running of the operation. Marine surveyor verified all handling procedures, inspected the lashing and securing to the transport trailer, and confirmed the compliance of equipment with industry standards to safeguard the upcoming lifting and launching processes.

Transporting and launching the hull
Once the transport of the newlybuilt hull was approved by our marine surveyor, the hull was carefully moved from the workshop to the launching site. With the expertise of our partners, the hull was positioned and launched into the water under the watchful eye of our marine surveyor. Every movement was closely monitored to prevent damage and ensure safe launching.

Towage approval survey: Towing from Loksa to Nasva
With the hull safely afloat, we organized and oversaw the preparatory works for the upcoming towage to Nasva. To ensure a safe sea passage, our marine surveyor inspected the towing arrangement and its suitability/compliance with the upcoming voyage. Environmental conditions, including currents and weather forecasts, were analyzed for a safe voyage. Once our marine surveyor was satisfied with the towing arrangement, a Certificate of Approval was issued for the upcoming towing.
